A Visit to Nagqu Trade Fair

    In Tibet, trade fair will be held in different regions at different time, it’s really a pity if you travel Tibet without visiting a Trade fair. What’s the characteristic of different trade fairs? What’s the difference between trade fair in Tibet the inland China? Let’s visit the 8th Animal By-Products Trade Fair held in Nagqu Prefecture and enjoy the feast in Changtang grassland.


    Nagqu Prefecture lies in northern Tibet and the central part of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The Yangtze River, Nu Jiang River (Salween River) and many other river originated in Nagqu. With an elevation of 4,500 meters, animal by-products like beef, mutton, furs in Nagqu Prefecture are famous for their high quality in Tibet and the world. Of course, it is owe to the strategy of “Green Products On Tibet Plateau” launched by the authorities in Nagqu Prefecture in recent years.


    At the scene of the trade fair, hundreds of stands are surrounded by customers. Thousands of commodities vary from animal husbandry products like high quality beef and mutton, Tibetan pork, dairy products, potato, tsampa(roasted high-land barley flour) and oil to Tibetan herbal medicine like caterpillar fungus, fritillaria, snow lotus, Ginsengfruit and traditional handicrafts like Tibetan carpet, Tibetan incense, and cashmere, you name it.


    It is a best place for sightseeing and shopping. Let’s visit the trade fair together!
