"Did you hear that? A Tibetan chicken industrial park is to be built near our village!" Tsering, a villager from Lhunrup county of Lhasa, excitedly tells his neighbor, adding, "if the chicken industrial park opens, maybe we could get jobs there."

"The idea is to build a leading brand among Tibetan chicken industries in Lhundrup county, which will not only bring tremendous opportunities for the county's development, but will help lift 100 thousand rural households out of poverty," said Liuyu, chairman of Tibet Tianyu Agricultural Industry Company.

It's planned the Tianyu Tibetan Chicken Industrial Park, currently under construction, will be a large-scale modern ecological breeding facility, built to the highest technical specifications in Tibet. The industrial park will also play an important role in improving the livelihoods of the local people.

"Our chicken industrial park will carry out targeted measures in poverty alleviation work in Lhundrup county. For example, after the park is put into operation, we will give breeding chickens to poverty stricken farmers from 520 or more households for free, provide them with breeding skills, and then repurchase Tibetan eggs from those villagers at better market prices." said Liuyu.

Furthermore, the total amount of chickens sold on the market is expected to reach 222 thousand after raising newly hatched chicks. It's estimated that the annual average per capita income of poor households will reach 16,400 yuan (about USD 2,490).
